Analysis of Revenge Ending Scene Finale

Mid shots are taken most of the way through this clip and it is all done in slow motion.  This adds tension to the scene because it is the suspense of the women's get away and do they really get away.  Also, there is selective focus used, showing that the woman in the background isn't important in this scene and that your concentration should be focused on the woman in the foreground, Lydia, signifying that it is her that is trying to get away.

There is a mid shot of a man standing next to the plane with a concerned and nervous facia expression.  This may signify that her knows something that they two women don't, creating a sense of tension in this scene.

We see Victoria standing at the bottom of the steps leading up to the plane.  We get a shot of her looking up at the camera at the top of the steps (high angle shot), this suggests her escape and get away.  This also makes us feel hope for her.

We get a low angle shot of a man next to the plane's wheel, showing that he has significance in this scene and that he will be important as the scene progresses.  This makes us feel on edge because we don't see all of the man's face so we can't work out who it is and what is his per pose in the scene.

As the scene progresses, the man takes of his hat to reveal that he is the white haired man that Victoria is trying to get away from.  We suddenly feel dread for Victoria and Lydia because he has killed people in the past and this could be the same fate for them.  This heightens the tension in the scene.

We get a mid shot of Conrad, Victoria's husband, standing in front of the fire.  He throws a photo of his wife and Lydia on to it.  This creates a sense of forboding because this could be the same fate, them going up in flames.  This shows that he has planned their execution and has hired the white haired man to do it for him.
